Getting here & location

Where is Auenhütte located?

Auenhütte is located at 1,306 metres above sea level – right in the heart of the Kleinwalsertal, directly at the Ifen cable car valley station. It doesn’t get much closer to the mountains than this.

How do I get to the Kleinwalsertal?

There’s only one way into the valley: via Germany and the Walserschanz. Despite its alpine location, this makes the Kleinwalsertal easy to reach.

Is Auenhütte located right on the slopes?

Yes. In winter, you start your day right at the Ifen valley station. Step into your skis or strap on your board, head outside and hit the slopes – then ski straight back to Auenhütte when you’re done.


Parking & facilities

Is there parking at Auenhütte?

Yes. As a guest staying at Auenhütte, you can park directly at the property free of charge. Spaces are limited, so please do not use the public parking areas.

Is there a ski room or storage area?

Yes. Our outdoor storage room is available to all guests staying at Auenhütte – for skis and snowboards in winter, and hiking boots and outdoor gear in summer.


Rooms & Stay

Do house guests still get half board on the restaurant’s day off?

Yes. You can choose your menu every evening, and on selected nights we also host special hut evenings featuring some of our favourite dishes.

What are the meal times for house guests?

Summer:
Breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am
Dinner from 6:00 pm

Winter:
Breakfast from 7:30 am to 9:30 am
Dinner from 6:30 pm

What room types are available at Auenhütte?

We have single, double and multi-bed rooms, as well as a suite. Perfect for solo travellers, couples, friends and families.

How many rooms does Auenhütte have?

A total of 18 rooms. Small, personal and far from the usual hotel hustle and bustle.

How often are the rooms cleaned?

Daily. If you’d like fresh towels, just let us know.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Is Auenhütte suitable for families?

Yes. With multi-bed rooms, short distances, our Auenland playground and a location right in the mountains, families feel right at home with us too.


Reception & Service

When is the reception open?

Daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Can I charge food and drinks to my room?

Yes. As a house guest, you can conveniently charge food and drinks at both Auenhütte and Laubela to your room.

Where can I eat and drink at Auenhütte?

At Auenhütte and Laubela. Local cuisine, honest food and good drinks.

What are the opening hours?

Winter
Auenhütte: 9:00 am–5:00 pm (hot food served from 11:00 am–4:30 pm)
Laubela: 10:00 am–10:00 pm

Summer
Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00 am–10:00 pm

Do I need to reserve a table?

We recommend making a reservation – especially in the evenings, at weekends or during events. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.

Can day guests visit Laubela too?

Yes. Laubela is also open to day guests – whether you’re stopping by after a day in the mountains, dropping in for a drink or staying for a meal.

Are vegetarian or vegan dishes available?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan options are always part of our menu.


Summer at Auenhütte

What can I do around Auenhütte in summer?

Hiking, climbing, mountain biking and e-biking, canyoning in the Schwarzwasserbach or paragliding. It’s all right on your doorstep.

Are there any via ferratas or climbing spots nearby?

Yes. There are several via ferratas, as well as a beginner-friendly climbing crag right by the Ifen car park.

Are the cable cars included in summer?

Yes. With the guest card, you can use the buses and cable cars free of charge.


Winter at Auenhütte

How far is it to the ski area?

Right outside the door. Auenhütte is located directly at the Ifen valley station.

What makes the Ifen ski area special?

Wide runs, steeper sections, off-piste opportunities and modern cable cars.

Is freeriding possible?

Yes. There are some great powder spots in the side valleys. Please respect the protected nature areas.

Do I need a car in winter?

No. Thanks to our location right at the valley station, you don’t necessarily need a car.

Is there a ski rental nearby?

Yes. Ski rental shops are located just a short walk from Auenhütte.


Relaxation, Activity & Experiences

Are there yoga or relaxation spaces?

Yes. Our Denkboden is a peaceful space for yoga, movement and time to yourselves.

Do you have your own magazine?

Yes. “Bergecho” is our in-house magazine with news, tips and stories from Auenhütte.


Celebrations, Groups & Work

Can I host a celebration at Auenhütte?

Yes. Birthdays, weddings and corporate events are all possible at Auenhütte.

Are smaller celebrations or groups welcome too?

Yes. Smaller groups and celebrations are very welcome – just send us an enquiry.

Is there a space for workshops or meetings?

Yes. The Denkboden is also suitable for workshops, seminars and creative gatherings.

How late can we celebrate?

We’ll arrange this individually – depending on the occasion and type of event.


Holiday with your dogs

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are welcome upon request.

Are there any additional charges for dogs?

We’ll discuss the details with you individually in advance.


Vouchers, Booking & Organisation

Can I buy vouchers?

Yes. Vouchers are available for overnight stays, drinks, hut dinners and more.

How do I book my stay?

Directly through our website or personally by email or phone.

Is there a minimum stay?

Depending on the season, a minimum stay may apply. You’ll find the exact conditions in the online booking.
