Mountain Experiences in Summer

Indulge yourself amidst lush woodlands, wildflower meadows in bloom and sun-kissed slopes. In the “Kleinwalsertal” Valley, you can enjoy outdoor activities to your heart’s content in summer, whether you prefer a bike ride, a hike to the summit of Mount “Ifen” or another outdoor activity. The Auenhütte Hotel is any case a perfect base for an unrivalled adventure holiday in summer.

There are countless quiet footpaths leading through wide valleys, across lush mountain meadows and woodlands filled with pleasant scents. Get away from it all taking a walk to hidden places where you can unwind in harmony and in rhythm with nature. One of the most popular walking routes, leading to the “Schwarzwassertal” Valley, starts right on the doorstep. A delightful footpath with gentle uphill and downhill sections takes you within 50 minutes to the “Melköde” pasture. Continuing for about 45 minutes, you will arrive, after having made your way up over steps and some more arduous ascents, at the “Schwarzwasserhütte” Inn (Our suggestion: taste the cheese dumplings with salad). If you are looking for a greater challenge, you can climb to the “Gottesacker” plateau, a protected karst area, presumably the most interesting site of its kind in the Alps.

Mountain Railway Ticket Included

Since spring 2019 we offer our guests the mountain railway ticket included.
On your arrival you will get your mountain railway ticket loaded onto your guest cards and you can use the mountain railways Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal without any restrictions.

Only 200 metres away from the Auenhütte Hotel, you will find the climbing park, where many of the valley’s inhabitants and visitors alike have learned climbing in the past. Scrambling courses are offered by the “Bergschule Kleinwalsertal” Mountaineering School.
Once you have learned the basic skills and tricks, you will be able to tackle one of the numerous via ferrata in the surroundings. You can also join various guided tours.

If you fancy adrenaline rushes, you can throw yourself into the torrents and gorges in the mountains encircling the “Kleinwalsertal” Valley.
Canyoning is an exciting adventure for all those who do not mind to get wet. (please refer to the “Bergschule Kleinwalsertal” Mountaineering School)

Mountain Biking

In the “Kleinwalsertal” Valley, there are numerous trails suitable for mountain bike rides. The mountainous landscape may seem a bit daunting to you. However, do not worry – the Kessler Sports Shop will provide you with perfect equipment, including an electronic assistance.

Discover the landscape of the “Kleinwalsertal” Valley from the aerial perspective. Taking off for a tandem paragliding flight, you can enjoy the mountains from dizzy heights.
